Spring 2023 Closet Staples

These are the pieces I’ll be wearing on repeat for spring 2023. A mix of classics and trendier items, these are all closet staples for me and can be used to create so many cute spring outfits! Below I’ve included the exact items I have, as well as similar styles that can serve the same purpose in your closet.

Of course, everyone’s spring closet staples will be a little different, but I thought I’d share my personal picks in case you’re looking for inspiration!

1. Neutral Blazer

I’ve only recently become a blazer girlie, but I’ve fallen for them hard. I love this affordable, lightweight one from H&M (fits TTS, I wear M). Pair it with a white tee and jeans, over an active dress, or with a tank and leggings.

2. Denim Jacket

Denim jackets have been a spring closet staple since forever, and with good reason! A cute denim jacket is perfect with dresses, a tee and leggings, or a skirt and top. For a more current look, try an oversized one. I have & love this one (fits TTS).

3. Layering Tank Tops

There are so many outfit options with a good layering tank. I’ve been loving brown & rust tones lately, and these first layer tanks from Old Navy come in so many great colors. I also have a bunch of these high neck tanks from H&M. I get my usual M in all!

4. Graphic Tees

I’ve always been a graphic tee girl, so they are definitely a spring closet staple for me! I just got this one from H&M and I love how oversized it is (got my usual M)!

5. Tennis Skirt

Once the weather finally warms up, I know I’m going to wear this Aerie tennis skirt a ton! It’s comfy and TTS (got an M), and will be so cute paired with an oversized sweatshirt, a tank and denim jacket, or a graphic tee.

6. White Sneakers

White sneakers are probably my most worn shoe, as a quick scroll through my TikTok makes clear! They just go with everything and are so comfy! My platform Nike AF1s are old, but I’ve linked some similar styles below.

7. Light Wash Jeans

Light wash jeans are both on trend and feel so fresh for spring. This pair from Old Navy is my all time fave – they’re stretchy, comfy, and the straight leg is so flattering. I wear my usual size 10.

8. Active Dress

I wore this athletic dress from Amazon so much last year, and I know it’ll be on repeat this year as well. It’s comfy, TTS (I wear M) and the built in shorts mean you don’t have to worry about flashing anyone. It’s versatile and is so cute with a blazer, cardigan, denim jacket, or open button up shirt.

9. Flare Leggings

I am so glad flares are back! I find them so cute and are perfect for a casual spring outfit with a big graphic tee or a zip up hoodie. This Aerie pair is super comfy and I love the crossover waist. They fit TTS, I wear M.

10. Button Up Shirt

There are so many ways to wear a gauzy button up shirt: open over a tank and jeans, half tucked, knotted or as a light layer over activewear. I love this one from Aerie so much I have it in 3 colors. It runs oversized, I wear a S.

11. Neutral Hoodie

I love a neutral hoodie for spring layering. I wear this affordable one from H&M with leggings, jeans and a tank, or over an active dress. I sized up to an L.

12. Button Cardigan

A cropped button cardigan is the perfect spring layer! Throw it on over a tank or a dress or just wear it on its own as a top. I have and love this one from American Eagle – sized up to L.

13. Bags

My favorite bags for spring include the Lululemon belt bag (and this Amazon dupe that I also have & love!), a straw bag, and a neutral crossbody bag that goes with everything.

14. Neutral Sandals

A good pair of neutral sandals are a spring must have for me. These platform sandals from Amazon are so comfy and go with so many outfits! I got my normal size and they fit perfectly!

15. Accessories

These accessories are spring closet staples for me: chunky gold hoops, a neutral ball cap, and trendy sunglasses. I have and love all the items linked below!
