August Faves

I feel like I start every month saying “how is it already [month]?” and September is no different. Maybe it’s a 2020 thing, or maybe it’s just part of getting older!

I love sharing basically everything I love with you guys, so here’s just a random collection of my favorite things from August!

1. Skirt + T-Shirt Outfits

The best thing about this combo is it’s comfy, but still looks cute and feels put together. I’m not about to start hanging out at home in jeans, but at this point I’m getting a bit tired of loungewear. A skirt and a tee can take me from working at my computer, to going for a walk, to hanging out on the couch in the evening, which is definitely an outfit win right now. As the temps cool down, I’ll just be switching out the tees for sweaters and adding a pair of cozy slippers!

2. Peach Cobbler

So I didn’t get a photo of it because it was just too good to wait another minute. But it was THAT GOOD. Peach cobbler is a summer tradition for us, and of all the recipes we’ve tried, this is the one we keep coming back to. The peaches are at their prime right now, so it’s the perfect time to take advantage and make this heavenly cobbler. I make a bit extra topping, and serve it with vanilla frozen yogurt!

3. At Home Gel Nails

My whole last blog post was about my DIY gel nails, but I love them so much I had to mention them here too. I love that my nails are finally growing, and that I’m not repainting them every 3 days! I do feel like I need to get more colors though, especially glitters!

4. Re-watching Shows & Movies

We recently re-watched the first season of True Detective, which was just as brilliant and gripping the second time around. Awhile back, we re-watched all of Breaking Bad, and we watched one Star Wars movie a week in chronological order (so fun!) If you’re like us, you might be starting to run out of things to watch, so why not re-watch an old fave?

5. Vichy Mineral 89 Moisturizer

I was so thrilled when Vichy sent over this product, as I’m already a huge fan of their night moisturizer and sunscreen. I tried it for a month and I’m happy to report that it’s a winner! It leaves my skin feeling soft but not oily, and I’ve actually seen a decrease in fine lines already. Plus, it absorbs quickly and works great under makeup, so I think I’m never going back to my old moisturizer! Arno also uses their Normaderm line, which is great for acne-prone skin. I’ll link everything we use from Vichy!

6. Looking Forward to Fall

I know there are probably a couple of people who think I’m nuts, but the anticipation of fall has been bringing me so much joy! Normally I’m a hold onto summer type girl, but this year summer didn’t feel much like summer. So much of what I love about fall can still happen even during the pandemic (sweaters, pretty leaves, pumpkin things, baking, soup, candles, being cozy inside), and I find looking forward to those simple pleasures is a welcome emotional break from all the uncertainty right now.
