2021 Spring Transition Trends I’m Loving

While there might be some 2021 trends I’m just too old to understand (like the cancelling of skinny jeans and side parts), there are a few that I’m really excited about! Here are 5 current trends in fashion & beauty that I’ll be wearing all spring!

1. Shackets

I really hope this trend never goes out of style. The perfect in-between weight, a shacket is a cross between a shirt and a jacket that’s great for layering. Since it’s still freezing here, I wear mine over a thick sweater. In the spring, I’ll layer it over a graphic tee and denim skirt!

2. Chunky Boots

As someone with a size 9-10 foot, I’m often a little wary of chunky shoes – it doesn’t take much to end up in clown territory. These magical Steve Madden lug boots however manage to both be chunky and make my feet look small. They’re very comfy and I just love the block heel. I’ll be wearing them now with jeans and leggings, but they’ll look equally cute with dresses and skirts when the temps warm up!

3. Star Sneakers

You’ve probably seen the divisive (and ridiculously expensive) Golden Goose sneakers all over the internet. While I personally can’t get on board with the price tag or the dirty look, I do love the star detail. Thankfully, there are more affordable options! I picked up this pair from Nordstrom Rack and they are so comfy and versatile. Just be sure to go up half a size!

4. Claw Clips

This trend reminds me of my Mom in the 90s and I am here for it. She’d always throw her hair up into a jumbo tortoiseshell claw clip, and it looked effortlessly chic and perfectly messy. As someone who’s not great at buns, I’m so glad these clips are back in style. Plus, they’re a great way to use less heat on your hair!

5. Updated French Manicures

I’ve never been one for the classic French manicure, but lately I’ve been seeing modern takes on the design that are just gorgeous. I have a bunch of inspo saved to my Nails board on Pinterest. I went with a simple black French tip, and I love how it turned out!
