Simple Holiday Nails

The holidays are my favorite time of year for nails – I love breaking out the glitter and being a little extra. I find nails are a great way to add a festive touch to any outfit, and I always feel more put together when I have cute nails! So I thought I’d round up my holiday nails from this year and last year in one place. I’m definitely more of a DIY nail girl, so all of these are simple designs I just did myself!

A couple of general nail tips:
  1. Always always use a base coat and top coat. For base coat I use Essie First Base and I always use Seche Vite topcoat. Seche Vite dries quickly and is meant to be used over wet nail polish – it bonds all the layers together for a durable and long lasting mani.
  2. Make sure you wrap every coat over the tip of the nail (and along the underside if your nails are long enough).
  3. If you struggle with thin nails, try using 3 coats of polish to make them thicker and stronger.
Essie “Between the Seats” (light grey) | Essie “Set in Stones” (silver) | Essie “Clothing Optional” (brown)
Essie “A Cut Above” (rose gold) | Essie “Chinchilly” (grey)
OPI “Samoan Sand” (beige) | Essie “Set in Stones” (silver)
Essie Expressie “Notifications On” (burgundy) | Quo “Show Me The Money” (glitter)
Essie “Licorice” (black) | OPI “Two Wrongs Don’t Make A Meteorite” (glitter)
Meet Across Gel colors 01 (white) & 05 (silver holo glitter)

This last manicure is actually at home gel – I have a whole blog post about it here if you’d like some more details. I use this Sally Hansen starter kit and colors 01 and 05 from this Amazon set.

I hope this post gives you some ideas for your own holiday nails! If you decide to use any of these designs, send me a photo – I’d love to see!
