How’s everyone doing with all this time stuck inside? Since we’re all probably looking for more things to do inside besides Netflix, I thought I’d share a really simple DIY wall hanging I made awhile ago. It took me only about half an hour to make, and was so easy! You could definitely make this with kids too; just of course be safe with the hot glue. I wouldn’t call myself patient, so I find quick projects like this are so satisfying, and sometimes just what you need. So let’s get started!
You’ll Need:
- Gold rings (also these, which are prime!)
- Suede lace
- Yarn in whatever colors you like!
- Hot glue gun
How To:
- Place the smaller ring inside the larger one, and add a dot of glue to attach them.
- Wrap the suede lace where the 2 rings join, adding a few dots of glue as you go. Make sure the ends of the suede lace are at the back so you won’t see them!
- Make the tassels. Cut your yarn into equal pieces. I didn’t measure each piece, I simply used 1 piece of yarn as a guide – it’s okay if they’re a bit uneven. I used 4 pieces of yarn for each tassel, each about 6″. Then, make lark’s head knots with each bunch around your largest ring, pictured below:
And that’s basically it, it’s that easy! You can make as many or as few knots as you like, in whatever colors you choose. If you wanted, you could also trim the ends to make it super precise, or you could make some of the tassels (maybe the middle ones!) extra long. There are so many ways to personalize this DIY!
Hope this inspired you to get crafty! If you make this, please send me a photo, I’d love to see!
