Back in March, I started taking a Pinterest course for bloggers that basically transformed the way I think about my business. It’s called The Pin Method, created by Emily & Bri at Let’s Get Social Agency, and it’s exactly what I didn’t know I needed as a blogger.
I’m going to be honest here – it’s hard to grow on Instagram right now. Actually, Instagram can be downright frustrating and discouraging if you’re trying to grow your business as blogger/influencer. If your experience is like mine, you might be finding yourself putting a ton of time and effort into making Reels, writing captions, researching hashtags, engaging, and doing all the things you’re supposed to, but still not seeing the growth you’re looking for. Unfortunately, I don’t have the secret to IG growth (if I did, you’d be the first to know!) But, Instagram is not the only platform bloggers & influencers can use to grow their business. That’s where Pinterest comes in!
I am an affiliate with The Pin Method. If you purchase the course through the links in this post, I’ll make commission at no extra cost to you.
My Experience with The Pin Method
I’m honestly pretty blown away by my results from the course! Since taking The Pin Method and implementing what I’ve learned, I’ve more than doubled my monthly views on Pinterest & gained followers, grown my email list, and seen an increase in blog traffic. And that was less than a month ago! I found the course to be very detailed and thorough, and covered everything I wanted to know in an accessible way. The Facebook group is very helpful as well, and Emily is active in the group answering questions and doing live workshops & updates. There are limited spots in the course available, and the doors open again on April 20th. The course is 100% worth it IMO, and I’m so excited to continue using everything I’ve learned and grow my Pinterest account!
Here’s a look at my Pinterest analytics from when I started the course to today:
Why Should Bloggers Use Pinterest?
First of all, Pinterest is not another social media platform. Think of Pinterest as a visual search engine – it’s an SEO based platform, and that means your success is much less dependent on an algorithm or on your follower count. People go to Pinterest to search for ideas, get inspiration, and research products & projects. And with the right strategies, you can get your content shown to the people who are looking for it.
What Makes Pinterest So Great?
- Pins have a long shelf-life. Most static IG posts stop seeing traffic after a few days. Pins can drive traffic for weeks, months, even years.
- Pins link back to other platforms. Use Pinterest to drive traffic to your blog & your email list (which are platforms you own, unlike social media).
- Pinterest is less time consuming than social media. Pinterest doesn’t require the constant attention & engagement that IG does. Plus, it lets you schedule your content. Batch create your Pins and then let them do their thing.
