It’s been almost a year since my first skincare routine post, and since then I’ve discovered some new products that I absolutely love! Honestly, my skin looks better now at 30 than it did when I was in my 20s!
A couple of notes on my skin type & concerns: I have normal to oily skin that isn’t acne-prone. My main concerns are dark under eye circles, large pores, and unevenness. Everyone’s skin is different and your skincare routine should be personalized to you! This is just what works for me.
1. Cleanse
First, I cleanse with the Vichy gel cleanser and my PMD clean – leaves my skin feeling so soft and my pores visibly shrunk! Then I’ll use the Bioderma micellar water (or skip straight to that if I’m in a hurry). It’s one product I continuously repurchase – I’ve used it for like 6 years! I also like the Sephora cleansing makeup remover wipes.
2. Tone
Honestly I was skeptical about toners at first, like what are they even for? This one is a gentle chemical exfoliant that leaves my skin looking and feeling refreshed. Also, since it removes any dead skin, the products you use after will absorb better!
3. Serums
I like to switch up my serums quite a bit. Currently, I’ve been loving Lancome Genefique – my skin looked more even and radiant within days of using it! My Mom gave me a sample of it, which has already lasted a month, and I definitely want to get a full bottle. I’m a little mad that I love it so much, because it is very expensive, but I believe it’s worth the price.
I also love the Vichy Peptide-C serum, which I really found brightened up my skin even after only a few days of use!
Occasionally, I’ll use The Ordinary Retinol at night – the price point is amazing and it doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It’s important that you only use retinol at night, as it makes your skin more prone to sun damage)
4. Moisturize
In the morning, I use the Vichy Mineral 89 Booster – I love that it’s lightweight, absorbs well, and is great under makeup, but is still very hydrating. At night, I reach for their LiftActiv Supreme Night cream, which is so rich and great for winter skin.
5. Eye Cream
As someone with pretty insane dark circles (it’s genetic, I’ve always had them) I’m very picky when it comes to eye cream. Olehenriksen Banana Bright is the only eye cream that’s really made a visible difference in my dark circles. I like Lancome Light-Pearl to reduce puffiness, and it has a metal applicator that feels very cooling. It also doubles as a lash serum!
6. SPF
Sunscreen is such important part of a good skincare routine! I love this one from Vichy because it’s not greasy, doesn’t leave a white cast, and works well under makeup.
Masks & Treatments
When I do get breakouts, I love Vichy Hyaluspot or Mario Badescu drying lotion. My favorite clay mask is also from Vichy, and leaves my skin feeling so soft. If you have chronically chapped lips like I do, the Laneige lip mask is a life-saver.
Full disclosure: this post is not sponsored but does contain products I received as PR packages & for past collaborations that I continue to use and love.
