Summer nails are so fun, and I’ve been loving the current nail art trends! I’ve always loved doing my own nails, but this past year I’ve gotten really into it. I’ve done at home gel nails, artificial nails, and recently I’ve been going all out with nail art. So I thought I’d share some of my recent nails if you’re looking for some summer mani inspo!
Daisy Nails
Daisy nails are everywhere this spring and summer and I love it! I went with a gorgeous sage green base for mine, and just painted the daisies with a small watercolor brush.
Nail Colors: Essie “In The Modem”, Essie “Blanc”, Essie “Less is Aura”
Yellow Daisy Nails
I feel like this butter yellow polish is the perfect fun summer color for someone who normally wears neutrals. Negative space nails are also a big trend this year that I’ve been loving! Since I wear artificial nails, I found a color combo to give the look of my natural nails.
Nail Colors: Essie “Busy Beeline”, Essie “Blanc”, OPI “Samoan Sand” with one coat of “Bubble Bath” on top for the nude color.
Pastel French Tip Nails
I just love how fun these nails are for summer! The colorful French tips are a sophisticated take on the skittle mani, and are still subtle enough for us neutral loving girls. I chose muted pastel colors, but you could definitely go all out with neon polish!
Nail Colors: Essie “Busy Beeline” (yellow), Essie “Lilacism” (blue), Essie “In The Modem” (green), Essie “Go Ginza” (lavender), Essie “All Things OOO” (peach), OPI “Samoan Sand” with one coat of “Bubble Bath” on top for the nude color.
Abstract Nails
The best thing about this nail design is that it’s so easy! You really can’t go wrong – just choose your colors and paint blobs, swirls, or lines.
Nail Colors: Essie “Topless & Barefoot”, Essie “Set in Sandstone”, Essie “You’re a Catch”, Sally Hansen “Per-suede”
French Manicure
So this one is more of a classic than a trend, but I still love the fresh look of French manicure nails for summer. These are actually press on nails, and I’m so impressed with how natural they look! I have these on now – it’s day 6 and they’re still going strong! If you’re in Canada, you can find these exact press ons at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Abstract Dot Nails
These are another beginner friendly nail design, and are so fun for summer! Tip: if you don’t have a dotting tool, try using a toothpick!
Nail Colors: OPI “Be There in a Prosecco” , OPI “A Great Opera-tunity”, OPI “Glitzerland”, Essie “Licorice”
Pink Ombre Nails
A softer take on the French manicure, but still just as fresh. I used the iconic pink polish Bubble Bath from OPI, and I love how it makes my hands look tan!
Nail Colors: OPI “Bubble Bath”, Essie “Blanc”
